An official of the Education Department said under the NIPUN Haryana Mission, the Education Department has set a target of making all the children up to the Class 3 of the state skilled by March 2026. This mega monitoring is being done with the aim of making Ambala a skilled district under the mission. For the mega monitoring, all the block education officers (BEOs), block resource coordinators (BRCs), cluster heads, block resource persons (BRPs) and Assistant Block Resource Coordinators (ABRCs) of the district have been assigned duties.

District Elementary Education Officer (DEEO) Sudhir Kalra said, "The NIPUN Haryana Mission is an ambitious project under the NIPUN Bharat programme of the Centre under the New Education Policy-2020, which is being run in every state, with each state setting its own different targets. The competencies related to Hindi and Maths of students of classes 1, 2 and 3 of all 478 schools of the district will be assessed.”

The officials will question the children on topics related to Hindi and mathematics. The officials will later fill the report on the Google form on the spot. This mega monitoring will help the children in performing better in their annual examinations as well. In December last year, a mega monitoring of the government primary schools was done under the Shiksha Dikhsa Paryavekshan programme of the department. On the basis of that supervision report, focusing on the children lagging in education, not only mentoring visits were increased in schools but remedial programmes were also run, he added.

District foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) programme Coordinator Manoj Kumar said on the basis of the data obtained from this mega monitoring, the FLN team of the district will prepare a strategy to achieve the 100 per cent NIPUN target in Ambala by the end of the session 2025-26.
