As many as 15 anganwadi centres operated by the Women and Child Development Department were inaugurated in Rewari district on Monday. Among these, 11 are anganwadi centre-cum-creches, three are standalone centres and one is located within the Police Lines.
Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Meena inaugurated the anganwadi centre-cum-creche located in Shakti Nagar here. Speaking on the occasion, Meena highlighted that the centres would offer a range of facilities including play materials, nutritious food, regular health checkups, vaccinations, as well as sleeping arrangements, education and overall physical and socio-emotional development for children.
“As part of the new policy, existing creches are also being upgraded. The creches will admit children aged six months to six years and provide essential services for up to 8 to 10 hours a day,” he added.
Additionally, SDM Uday Singh inaugurated another anganwadi centre-cum-creche in Ward 12 in the Bawal area. He said that the newly launched policy was specifically designed to support working women.
“The creches will offer day-care services to children, promoting their overall development by ensuring improved nutrition, health, cognitive and emotional growth, as well as providing preschool education, supplementary nutrition and monitoring,” the SDM added. District Programme Officer Shalu Yadav said to ensure the safety of children, ID cards for both parents and staff would be issued.
