Anjali wins 100m race

The two-day athletics meet at Dyal Singh College concluded on Saturday. Cricketer Sumit Narwal, who is also an alumnus of the college, was the chief guest on the occasion.
Speaking to students, he said, “There must be some goal in life. Let us remain honest with ourselves in life. Perform your duties with complete honesty and dedication.”
Principal Dr Ashima Gakhar encouraged the students to give importance to both education and sports in their life as sports could help in overall development.
She said new dimensions had been established in this year’s sports competition to eliminate discrimination on the basis of gender.
In the 100 m race for girls, Anjali, Aanchal and Rimpal bagged the first, second and third positions, respectively.
In the 200 m race for boys, Himanshu, Mannu Saini and Vishal secured the first, second and third position, respectively.
Anjali and Shrishti bagged the first position in three-legged race, while Kashish and Vanshika stood second.
Harmeet Kaur and Karishma bagged the third position.
In the three-legged race for boys, Himanshu and Happy Rana emerged victorious.
Hemant Rana and Suraj bagged the second position and Mohit and Tanish stood third. In the slow cycling for boys, Amarjeet, Anmol Joshi and Sahil bagged the first, second and third positions, respectively.
In boys’ long jump, Gurmeet, Bharat Kumar and Suraj secured the first, second and third positions, respectively.
