Ambala: Shri Harkrishan Public school celebrated its annual academic presentation day with great zeal. Parents of students of Classes I to VIII were invited in school to watch the unique way of presenting various subjects topics in front of audience. Students represent the deep understanding of subjects in front of their parents by involving the audience in their classroom. School has adopted e-Dac learning system for batter education of students. The unique way of teaching learning adopted by school is based on various teaching strategies. School Director Gurnaam Singh Sra was present. The school principal, Ravneet Kaur, said education means not only to read books, but it is the improvement and grooming of entire personality of a child to prepare him/her for future challenges.

JMIETI holds two-day competition

Yamunanagar: The civil engineering department of Jai Parkash Mukand Lal Innovative Engineering and Technology Institute (JMIETI), Radaur, organised two days’ regional competition on early age strength of concrete in collaboration with Ultratech Cement Limited, Gurugram. Dr RS Chauhan, director, JMIETI said Deepak Kumar Garg, technical manager, Ultratech Cement, Gurugram, was the keynote speaker. He said 33 teams (158 students) from 11 polytechnics colleges of seven districts participated in the programme. Dr SK Garg, director of JMIT; Sunil Kataria, SDO, Public Health Engineering Department; Akash Khurana, technical engineer, Ultra Tech, Cement, Assistant Professor Amit Raheja and Assistant Professor Rajesh Sagwal were also present.

Shoes, socks distributed at DAV school

Yamunanagar: Vijay Kapur, chairman of DAV schools, Yamunanagar, distributed shoes and socks to the needy students of DAV School, Kansapur, located in the slum area of Yamunanagar to save them from cold weather. He said this school was developed by JN Kapur, founder of DAV institutions, Yamunanagar, with a view to impart education to the needy people at their doorstep, when India’s literacy was around 30 per cent. Vijay Kapur advised students for learning the lesson of humanity and respecting teachers, parents and the elderly. He said students should observe discipline in their lives to become good human beings otherwise their democracy without discipline would be a democracy without future.

Students given a warm send-off

Kurukshetra: A farewell party was organised by GMN Public School on the school premises. The students of Class IX organised a grand show in the honours of their seniors. The students conveyed their feelings through songs, dances and games. Cultural event commenced with dance performances of Classes IX and X. Ramp walk was done by the Class X students and teachers and non-teaching staff. The pick of the day was the melody dance, where juniors enthralled the gathering with their rhythmic dance steps. The girls’ team led the pack of Punjabi dance giving a fast beat to the show. Alok Gupta, director of the school, was also present. Principal Sheetal Sharma blessed the outgoing batch and extended her good wishes to them for a bright, successful and prosperous future.

NSS cadets conduct gram sabha

Ambala: NSS volunteers of Maharishi Markandeshwar organised a gram sabha at Sohana village under the scheme of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan. In this sabha, sarpanch of the village, the head teacher of the government school, PTI teachers and some villagers were present. In this sabha, the people of the village said they were able to make full use of the schemes offered by the government with the help of sarpanch. The teachers of the school described the progress of the school by showing various rewards won by the school, describing the progress of the school. The sarpanch said the government health centre of the village plays a vital role in maintaining the healthy life of villagers. According to the villagers, the main problem in the village is cleanliness, on which the sarpanch of the village is mainly working. The volunteers also encouraged the people of the village to make their village an ideal village by stating the importance of cleanliness. This sabha was conducted according to the instructions of the University Chancellor Tarsem Kumar Garg, Secretary Dr Sanjeev Garg and Treasurer Dr Vishal Garg. The entire work of this sabha was handled by NSS programme coordinator Dr Karan Agrawal.

Girls shine in inter-college quiz

Sonepat: Team of Rakhi, Priti and Amita, BSc students of Tau Devi Lal Government Women College, Murthal, bagged the first position in the Inter-College Mathematics quiz contest organised at the BPS Women University, Khanpur Kalan, in the district on the occasion of National Mathematics Day celebration. University’s Vice Chancellor Prof Sushma Yadav distributed prizes among the winners and congratulated them. On their arrival in the college, they were accorded warm welcome by the college Principal, Dr Saroj Malik and other staff members of the college. The principal remarked that participation of students in such competitions will help in their mental development.
