Faridabad, August 11
The traffic police department launched an anti-encroachment drive in parts of the city on Sunday. A spokesperson for the department said the drive aimed to remove bottlenecks affecting traffic movement at various locations in the city. He revealed that police officials removed encroachments, including sheds, shops and vending points, at several spots between the Badarpur border and the bypass road near Sector 37 and the Sarai area.
A large number of vendors had occupied or encroached upon green belt spaces and pathways along the roads in various parts of the city, leading to traffic problems. The spokesperson added that the drive against such encroachments would continue indefinitely in other parts of the city. — TNS
