Applications for PM’s awards open till November 15

The Government of India has set the last date for registration and submission of applications for the Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration as November 15. Those fulfilling the prescribed eligibility conditions and criteria can submit their applications.

Sharing information in this regard, an official spokesperson said the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Government of India, had launched this award scheme in 2006 to acknowledge, recognise and reward extraordinary and innovative work done by districts/organisations of the Central and state governments.

“The awards will be conferred under three categories — Category I- Holistic Development of Districts, Category II - Aspirational Blocks Programme, and Category III - Innovations. “The awards focus not merely on achievement of targets, but emphasise on good governance, qualitative outcomes and last-mile connectivity. Keeping this in view, the applications will be evaluated on three key parameters — governance, qualitative performance and quantitative results,” the spokesperson said.
