Armed men open fire at Haryanvi pop singer Rahul Fazilpuria in Gurugram
A Haryanvi pop singer was allegedly attacked in Gurugram after armed men opened fire at him on Monday night in Sector 71.
The singer narrowly escaped the attack and police have started an investigation.
The incident took place on the Southern Peripheral Road at around 8 pm. No FIR has been registered yet.
In an official statement, Gurugram Police said they had received information about firing on the SPR. However, when they reached the spot, nobody could confirm it.
“In this incident no one has been injured. The police team has reached the spot and the matter is being investigated,” said Sandeep Kumar, spokesperson of Gurugram Police.
The victim is said to be a Haryanvi pop singer and former candidate of Jannayak Janta Party from Gurugram Lok Sabha.
Fazilpuria could not be contacted as his mobile was switched off.
Rahul reportedly had Haryana Police security which had been withdrawn a few days ago. He had also sought security from the police after receiving alleged threats.
