Speaking to mediapersons after the meeting, Khattar said the family had requested a government job for the ASI’s widow and financial assistance for the education of his children.

“Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has agreed to offer a government job to the ASI’s wife and also assured that the education of the children will be taken care of by the government. The ASI will be cremated with honour and dignity. All other benefits due to them under the rules will be provided,” the minister said.

Calling both recent suicide incidents — including that of senior IPS officer Y Puran Kumar — “deeply unfortunate,” Khattar urged people not to politicise the tragedies or give them a caste-based interpretation.

“Some people and political parties tried to give a political colour to the first incident, and some community members attempted to give it a caste-based angle, which is not appropriate. People should not give these incidents a casteist or political dimension,” he said.

The Union Minister added that the root cause behind both incidents was a social evil that needed to be addressed.

“The government will conduct an impartial investigation into both incidents and ensure justice for the families,” Khattar said, adding that he prayed to the Almighty to grant peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family.

Among those present on the occasion were Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta, Superintendent of Police Surinder Kumar Bhoria, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Ashish Kumar and former media coordinator Rajkumar Kapoor.
