Hisar Assistant Superintendent of Police Upasana has alerted employees who are working from home during the lockdown.

In a statement, the ASP who is the supervisor officer of the cyber police station, Hisar, said various IT companies were giving their employees the option to work from home. “Employees need to install applications like Team Viewer, AnyDesk etc in their laptop/computers. Revealing the modus operandi of the cyber criminals, Upasana said such elements collected information related to the company and employee using various social sites like Linkedln app, Facebook, etc., and then called the victim by becoming the technical support executive and the victim was prompt to install AnyDesk, Team Viewer. As soon as they get access to the victim’s device, malicious software is installed and the system is hacked by stealing sensitive information such as passwords, bank details, etc. from victim’s device, the ASP said. “In case of any type of cyber fraud, the person should immediately register a complaint on the Cyber police station Hisar or www.cybercrime.gov.in ”, she said. — TNS
