Athletics meet concludes at Indira Gandhi National College

The two-day 50th Annual Athletics Meet concluded at Indira Gandhi National College, Ladwa.

Dr Vikram Kumar, associate professor at IB College, Panipat, who was the chief guest, motivated and inspired the athletes, commending their dedication and resilience.

Dr Vikram Kumar praised the participants for their efforts and emphasised the importance of sports in leading a healthy life. He remarked, "The biggest victory of life is to make yourself better," urging the students to stay active and focused on their physical well-being.

College principal Dr Kushal Pal laid stress in the importance of hard work, perseverance and a positive mindset in achieving success. "Hard work and struggle pave the way to victory," he said, motivating the students to pursue their goals with determination. He also cautioned the students about the dangers of drug addiction and laid stress on avoiding it at all costs.

Dr Kuldeep Singh, associate professor, department of physical education spoke about the achievements of the college's athletes, who had consistently won medals at both national and international levels.

Various events including, 800 meter race, shot put, long jump, and sack race were In men's and women's categories were organised.

In addition to these competitions, a tug-of-war event was also organised, with students from the college participating by forming their own teams.

While Mohit, from BA second year was awarded Best Male Player, Vidhi, from BA third year, was awarded  Best Female Player. In addition, the Best Female Player of the academic session 2024-25 was wrestling champion Tapasya, while the Best Male Player was karate champion Jai Karan.
