Some unidentified miscreants took away an ATM in Pehowa in the wee hours on Monday. As per information, the miscreants used a four-wheeler to uproot the machine.
The machine contained about Rs 15 lakh cash which the miscreants took away towards Kaithal. As per information, the kiosk of the SBI ATM is situated near the Pehowa police post. A case has been registered under Sections 380 and 457 of the IPC.
Pehowa police post in-charge Rajpal said, “The miscreants have used a four-wheeler to uproot the machine. The ATM was poorly installed and had weak foundation. A police party had inspected the ATM around 12.39 last night.”
SHO Pehowa Devender Kumar said, “According to the bank, the ATM had around Rs 15 lakh. The miscreants used a Mahindra pickup and fled forwards Kaithal. CCTV footage has been obtained but the registration number of the vehicle is not visible and the toll plaza employees too had not noted it down. Efforts are on to trace the vehicle and nab the miscreants.”
