Awareness programme

Sirsa: An awareness programme on Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-2022 was organised by the university centre for outreach programme and extension (UCOPE) of Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, in the seminar hall of the university. Vice-Chancellor Prof Ajmer Singh Malik said the CDLU was the leading university in the state in the implementation of NEP-2020. Now, the admission to undergraduate programmes from the academic session 2022-23 will be done through the Combined University Entrance Examination and National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct this exam. May 6, 2022 is the last date for applying for this test and the students who have passed or appeared in Class XII exam are eligible for this exam. The university has established a help desk for the students. Ved Prakash Yadav, Vice Chairman, Haryana School Education Board said students would be benefited from the Common University Entrance. Principals of various schools in the district participated in this programme along with District Education Officer Sant Kumar.

Save soil movement

Karnal: Students of Pratap Public School rallied behind the save soil movement. Volunteers of Isha briefed the students about the 100 days of 30,000-km lone motorcycle journey of Sadhguru across 27 nations. The event began with an address by Director Principal Poonam Navet, who apprised the students about the issue urging their support. Mohit Sardana and volunteers of Isha Foundation emphasised the importance of soil conservation and showed a video highlighting the gravity of the present situation. They showed the video of Satguru depicting the details of his save soil campaign. The students also vowed to amplify the message of the movement with their friends, family, and acquaintances. The workshop ended with the soil conservation anthem promising to be buddies of the earth..

Rs 30L grant for cancer research

Faridabad: Two teachers of the JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, have been selected to receive a research grant of Rs 30 lakh for their research project titled ‘Development of spiropyran based metal complexes as potent drug candidate for effective photodynamic and photothermal cancer therapy’ under a scheme funded by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. A project submitted by Dr Bhawna Uttam and Dr Amit Rajput as principal investigator and co-principal investigator, both assistant professors in the department of chemistry, has been selected for the special grant, said Vice Chancellor Prof SK Tomar. The proposed project is aimed at developing effective and affordable methodologies to treat cancer patients.
