Awareness programme on dangers of drug abuse at JCD Memorial College
JCD Memorial College, in collaboration with Civil Hospital Sirsa, organised an important awareness programme on Sunday to highlight the harmful effects of drug addiction. The event was supported by the Anti-Tobacco Cell, NSS, YRC, NCC Unit, and the Dhakad Team, along with Dr Amrik Gill and other JCD department heads.
During the programme, Kanwar Singh, Social Welfare Officer from Civil Hospital, shared valuable information on the dangers of drug abuse.
He explained how several factors contribute to the development of addiction among youth. He also discussed the long-term impact of drug use on the mental health. The students were told that the Haryana Government had set up a special department at Civil Hospital to help people struggling with addiction. Dr Jai Prakash, Director-General of JCD College, emphasised the importance of raising awareness about the destructive effects of addiction. He expressed concern about the growing prevalence of drugs in society, particularly among the younger generation.
Jai Prakash encouraged students to be aware of the harmful effects of drugs and support those who might needed help in overcoming addiction.
He praised the efforts made by the Civil Hospital in providing comprehensive treatment for drug addiction.
