The Ayush Department, Haryana, on Thursday celebrated the World Homeopathy Day at Panchkula-based Sanskriti Model School in Sector 20. Director-General Ayush Department, Sanjeev Verma, was the chief guest on the occasion. Doctors and other staff of the Ayush Department also participated in the event.

Besides celebrations, the Ayush Department also organised free homeopathy camps across the state.

“We have been consistently trying to promote the centuries-old practice of homeopathy. It is quite popular among the masses,” said Verma.

He added that 120 posts of homeopathy doctors had been approved recently and they would be filled soon. A homeopathy college is also being set up in Ambala. “An administrative approval of Rs 55.85 lakh has been approved for the college. The construction will be completed in the current financial year. It will help students who want to pursue homeopathy,” he said.

He further said every district was holding a homeopathy-free camp. He exhorted newly appointed doctors to work in remote areas so that people could avail of homeopathy services.
