The legal showdown between a woman accusing Haryana BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli and singer Rocky Mittal of gangrape, and the counter-allegations of extortion against her, has taken fresh turns. While the woman prepares to challenge the closure of her gangrape case in Solan court, Panchkula Police have summoned her for questioning in the extortion case filed by Mittal on April 4.

The plot thickens

- Six accused in Mittal’s extortion case, including the woman

- Three arrested (Amit Bindal, Mehak, Meeru), later released on bail

- Woman secured conditional anticipatory bail but allegedly withheld key evidence

- Police seek mobile phone used for alleged extortion calls

- SIM card reportedly registered in the name of Uttar Pradesh-based Rahul, now under scanner

The controversy took a dramatic turn on Sunday when the woman’s press conference at a Sector 5 hotel was interrupted by Haryana Police serving her a notice to appear in the extortion case. Her lawyer, AS Gujral, confirmed they would comply with the summons while simultaneously filing a revision petition in Solan court against the March 12 closure of the gangrape case by Himachal Pradesh Police.

"We have cooperated with investigators from the beginning, which helped secure anticipatory bail on March 12. Now that a fresh notice has been issued, we will appear before Panchkula Police on April 4," Gujral said.

The case dates back to July 2023 when the woman alleged she and her friend were drugged and gangraped by Badoli and Mittal at a Kasauli hotel. An FIR was lodged nearly a year later on December 13, 2024 under Sections 376D (gangrape) and 506 (criminal intimidation). However, Mittal retaliated with an extortion complaint on February 6, 2025, accusing the woman of orchestrating a Rs 50 lakh honey-trap scheme.

Sunday’s developments saw police pursuing the woman after her press meet was halted by hotel staff citing unauthorised gathering. She was eventually served the notice amid chaotic scenes.
