The demand to make Rania a sub-division has intensified. In support of this demand, the Sirsa District Bar Association (DBA) observed a no-workday on Wednesday, urging the government to act promptly. District Bar Association president Aditya Rathore said the Rania Bar Association sought their support to this end. Consequently, a no-workday was observed, affecting over 1,200 cases. Rathore assured they stood firmly with the Rania Bar Association on this issue. Speaking to the media, Rathore questioned why the government had not acted on the report approved by the Deputy Commissioner? Having met state Agriculture Minister Kanwar Pal Gurjar, he said the state government had only assured to consider the matter. Rathore said the issue had to be resolved before the Assembly elections.

A district bar association meeting is scheduled for July 26 to decide on the future course of action. Rania Bar Association president Rinkle Banga highlighted that Rania met all criteria to be named a sub-division. Despite informing MLAs, ministers and the Chief Minister in writing multiple times, no serious action has been taken, Banga added. Banga warned that if the government did not act soon, the DBA would go on a hunger strike. Banga recalled the 2022 strike at Rania, where minister Ranjit Singh had assured that Rania would be declared a sub-division within three months. However, even after two years, there has been no progress. The DC had completed all necessary paperwork, and even MLA Shishpal Keharwala had raised the issue in the Assembly, but the government ignored it. Banga said despite being sent multiple requests in writing, former Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala said he was unaware of the issue. Banga announced that former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda would be given a demand letter during his visit to Sirsa on July 26 to press the government to expedite the approval.
