The four probationary cops, involved in a brawl on Wednesday night at a local pub, were suspended today. The cops had objected to the alleged misbehaviour by two men with a woman cop accompanying them. A departmental inquiry was also marked against all four probationer cops.
As per the order of the DCP (headquarters) probationer sub-inspector Mohit Kumar, Sumit Kumar, Praveen Narwal and Pingakash had been suspended and directed to report to the police lines. Mohit Kumar was deployed at the Farrukhnagar police station, Sumit at the Sector 29 police station, Praveen Narwal at the cybercrime police station, while Pingakash was deployed at the Bilaspur police station.
As per the FIR registered in the Sector 29 police station, complainant Mohit showed involvement of Sumit with him, resulting in fractures in legs. But police sources said that all four were together on that night and visited the bar. Due to disciplinary action, all four officials were suspended.
It may be noted that two probationary policemen were brutally assaulted by two persons near Medanta hospital in Sector 38 here on Wednesday night.
One of the policemen suffered fractures in both his legs as the accused tried to mow him down with their car. The accused were arrested by the police, but they managed to secure bail.
They were identified as Krishan Kumar (25) of Palwal, who is a civil engineer and Shiv Kumar (28) of Lajwanti Garden, Delhi. Krishan is the son of an ASI of the Haryana Police. Both were granted bail.
