Beautification work of Yamunanagar's Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk begins
The Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ) will carry out beautification work of Yamunanagar’s main Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk. The MCYJ has demolished this chowk and started construction work to give a new look to it.
As per authorities of the MCYJ, the new chowk will be more attractive and beautiful than the old one. According to information, on the instructions of Mayor Suman Bahamani and MCYJ Commissioner Akhil Pilani, the civic body is trying to give twin cities, a beautiful, clean and attractive look. The authorities have decided to beautify all chowks in the twin cities.
As per available information, the foundation stone of this chowk was laid by Yamunanagar MLA Ghanshyam Dass Arora on January 9, 2025, but its construction work started now. An amount of Rs 15.65 lakh will be spent on the construction of this chowk.
“By August 30, 2025, residents of Yamunanagar will get a new chowk. This chowk will be more beautiful and attractive than the old chowk. There will also be a provision of lighting at this chowk,” said Mayor Suman Bahamani.
“The old chowk was demolished on Thursday night. The new chowk will be built in a perimeter of seven metres,” the Mayor said. “Our effort is to beautify the twin cities Yamunanagar and Jagadhri,” the Mayor said.
She said after Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk, Maharana Pratap Chowk, Madhu Chowk, Pyara Chowk and other chowks of the twin cities would be given a beautiful and attractive look.
