Hisar, October 15
Softening his stand towards the Congress, disgruntled party leader Bharat Singh Beniwal said he would stay with the party and accept the decision of the high command to deny him the ticket. He has agreed to campaign for the party along with the state president Kumari Selja.
Beniwal was upset with the party after the Congress allotted the ticket to his arch-rival Pawan Beniwal in the Ellenabad Assembly byelection. Pawan, who had contested the 2019 and 2014 Assembly elections on the BJP ticket, had joined the Congress about a month ago.
Bharat opposed the party move and called a meeting of his workers to take a decision regarding his poll strategy. He said he had discussed the issue with his supporters and decided to stay with the Congress. He said he would campaign for the party if the party high command assigned him duty.
