Bhiwani colony residents face problem of waterlogging due to damaged sewer line
Residents of Balaji Colony near Jeetuwala pond in Bhiwani town have been facing a problem of waterlogging on roads for the past four months due to a damaged sewer line.
The residents alleged that the leakage had led to flooding of the area with sewage water, causing major health risks and making it difficult for locals to move around. They alleged that despite several complaints to the authorities concerned, no action was taken to resolve the problem so far.
The negligent attitude of the authorities had led to growing frustration among the residents. The situation has become so severe that children have to wade through the contaminated water to reach their schools. The stagnant sewage water in the streets has not only created an unbearable stench but has also led to a rise in mosquito breeding, increasing the likelihood of disease outbreaks in the area.
Anil Kumar, from Ward 18 said despite repeated complaints and reminders to the officials, they have only received empty assurances and no real solution to the problem. He warned that if the issue was not resolved soon, the residents would be forced to protest on the streets.
