The accused had kidnapped Raghav, son of Manoj Kumar, from Tosham town of Bhiwani on February 9. A team of the CIA, Bhiwani, were working on the tip-off that the accused had driven towards Sirsa district. The CIA got information about the movement of the accused in a vehicle in Chhatargarh Patti area in Sirsa on Sunday night after which the team, along with the local police, started a combing operation to track the accused.
Sources said the CIA spotted the vehicle around 10 pm. As the police tried to stop the vehicle, the accused tried to speed away and rammed into the police vehicle. Thereafter, the accused left tried to run away. The police, however, challenged the accused and asked them to surrender.
Police officials said one of the accused opened fire on them, after which they retaliated. During the encounter, two of the accused — Sudarshan of Shishwala village in Charkhi Dadri district and Khetu of Baganwala village in Bhiwani — suffered bullet injuries on their legs. The police also overpowered Ravi of Baganwala village. However, the fourth accused, Lekhu of Baganwala village, managed to flee.
The police rescued the child from the rear seat of the accused’s car. The police said the six accused had planned and executed the kidnapping of the boy, who is the son of a shoe trader of Tosham. They kidnapped him on the evening of February 9 when he was going home in Tosham. They had demanded Rs 50 lakh as ransom from the family.
