Bhiwani teacher bags first prize at national-level contest
Shailesh Kumar, a PGT physics teacher from Leghaan village in Bhiwani district, has won the first prize at a national-level competition organised by the Ministry of Education.
The competition was part of the “Developed India Campaign”, focusing on integrating art with educational methods.
The event was held on February 6 and 7, and had invited teachers from across the country to present innovative ways of teaching subjects in an easily understandable way.
Kumar’s innovative method of teaching physics, which is considered a tough subject, impressed the jury of the event.
Kumar was awarded a cash prize of Rs 25,000, a trophy and a gold medal, which were presented by Dinesh Prasad Saklani, Director, NCERT, Delhi.
The second and third prizes were bagged by teachers from Rajasthan and Chandigarh, respectively.
Kumar said his goal was to provide knowledge to students through the subject of science.
His efforts have led to a remarkable improvement in the exam results of Bhiwani students.
He has also showcased his teaching techniques at international events, such as an UNESCO competition held in Hyderabad in 2022, where his students performed exceptionally well, contributing to Haryana’s second-place achievement in the global contest.
