Amisha, a girl from Mandhan village in Tosham subdivision of Bhiwani district, has secured 499 out of 500 marks to top the matriculation examination of the Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) in the state.
Overall, 73.18 per cent students have been declared successful. Girls yet again performed better than boys as 76.26 per cent of them passed the matriculation examination. Boys have a success rate of 70.56 per cent.

Among the toppers, three girls got 497 marks to share the second position while six students, including four girls and a boy, who scored 496 marks each were declared joint third in the state.
The BSEH, Bhiwani chairperson, Dr Jagbir Singh today informed that 3,26,487 students had appeared in the matriculation examination, out of which 2,38,932 passed and 19,679 students need to re-appear in any of the papers.
Among the students, 1,76,168 were boys out of which 1,24,303 passed and 1,50,319 were girls of which 1,14,629 had been declared successful, said Dr Singh.
Dr Singh further informed that the pass percentage of government schools was 63.54 while that of private schools was 88.21. “Students of the rural areas have shown better results with a success percentage of 74.06, while 71.35 per cent students from the urban areas have passed the examination,” Dr Singh added.
The chairman said the result of private (distance mode) candidates was 92.96 per cent. As many as 1,903 candidates appeared in this examination, out of which 1,769 passed, the chairman added.
Meanwhile, residents of Mandhan village have hailed the success of the topper girl Amisha. Her father Ved Prakash works as conductor in the Haryana Roadways Department, while her mother Sunita is a homemaker.
Amisha’s mother Sunita said they were proud of their daughter, who earned laurels for their village. Amisha is a student of the Isharwal Public School in adjoining Isharwal village. Giving credit of her success to teachers and parents, Amisha said she wanted to become an engineer. She said a disciplined study throughout the year, besides guidance and assistance from teachers, helped her in performing well in the examination. “I studied five to six hours a day and used mobile phone only for study related activities. I never felt the need for taking tuitions. My teachers were always available for help in studies,” said Amisha.
Three students – Sunaina from Bhandwa village in Charkhi Dadri district, Khushi from Uchana Mandi town in Jind district and Manju from Sismore village in Kaithal district – bagged second position in the examination.
Third spot was shared by Suhani from Halalpur village in Sonepat, Rina from Bithmara village in Hisar district, Himanshi from Shiv Nagar locality in Hisar town, Himani from Mandhana village in Bhiwani district and Love Kush (boy) from Madanheri village in Hisar district.
