Bhukkal promises to make state free of crime, drugs
Making Haryana drug and crime-free is not a promise but a goal of the Congress party. Youngsters in the state are rapidly falling into the trap of crime due to drug addiction. As soon as the Congress government is formed in the state, special steps will be taken to get them out of this quagmire. Four-time MLA and the Congress candidate from Jhajjar, Geeta Bhukkal, stated this while addressing a poll meeting at the Vikas Nagar locality here. She said the NCRB’s latest report disclosed that Haryana was one of the unsafe states in the country in terms of women safety.
“Drug addiction among youth across the state is a major cause for concern but the BJP government has failed to tackle it in the past decade. On coming to power, we will take all necessary steps to eradicate drug abuse. A drug-free wing will be established in all the schools and colleges of the state. The number of de-addiction centres will be enhanced at the district level besides carrying out awareness campaigns effectively with the help of social outfits,” said the former Education Minister.
She said the provision of punishment would also be made by attaching the property of drug smugglers. The check on drug addiction would also reduce the number of crime cases. Moreover, the Congress government would also take preventive action to eliminate the crime by reining in criminals, she claimed.
“There will be no place for crime during the Congress regime. It will be the responsibility of the Congress government to provide a safe environment for people from every walk of life. The crime-free atmosphere in the state will also attract top industrialists to set up their units here. The situation will create employment avenues for locals,” said Bhukkal.
Targeting the BJP government over the job issue, former Education Minister said paper leak of many competitive exams, recovery of cash from the office of a recruitment commission and suspension of Chairman of the Haryana Staff Selection Commission were sufficient enough to understand how the government jobs were being given during the BJP regime in the past a decade.
