Bhukkal raises road repair issue; says govt reply same — 'will be done'
Taking on the government for giving the same reply for four years on the construction of a damaged road from village Matanhail to Salhawas — a 19-km stretch — while the work was not progressing, Congress MLA Geeta Bhukkal said the repair of some of the other roads continued to be pending, but the reply given by the minister in response to her question had remained unchanged.
Speaking during question hour of the ongoing Budget session here today, she said a stretch of the damaged road from Jhajjar City to Bahadurgarh, too, needed urgent repairs as a number of fatal accidents had taken place there.
She highlighted that the same reply had been given by former CM Manohar Lal Khattar in 2016, and in the previous terms of the BJP government by the then PWD Minister, Rao Narbir Singh; the then Deputy CM, Dushyant Chautala; and now, Public Works (Building and Roads) Minister Ranbir Gangwa.
Responding to her question, Gangwa assured the MLA that all damaged roads would be repaired over the next six months.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Arti Singh Rao said MRI and Cath Lab services would be started soon at the Sonepat Civil Hospital. The Civil Surgeon would also be appointed soon.
She said an ultrasound machine was available at the Civil Hospital. A request was being sent to Haryana Medical Services Corporation Limited to issue a tender for the purchase of an MRI machine, whereas a tender was issued by the corporation for establishing a Cath Lab, but no bid had been received. The tender would be issued again, she said.
In response to another question, she said tenders would be re-issued by May 7, 2025, for the construction of a 100-bed hospital at Nilokheri, and a Primary Health Centre at Gularpur and Samana Bahu villages. The tender for the construction of a Primary Health Centre at Sagga would be completed by May.
She claimed that all the works would be completed within 18 months of the tender.
Irrigation and Water Resources Minister Shruti Choudhry said a proposal to address the problem of groundwater level at Rajgarh, Dharan, Narsinghpur Gadhi, Takdi and surrounding villages falling under the Bawal Assembly constituency was under consideration.
Responding to a question, she said the Bawal constituency fell in the dark zone. The groundwater level of the area has gone down to 1,200 ft.
