Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda called on activists of ‘Suno Nahro Ki Pukar’, a social outfit, and appreciated them for conducting campaigns for keeping the canals clean.
Dr Jasmer Singh, convener and Deepak Chhara, patron of the outfit, said Hooda stopped at the JLN Canal near the Delhi bypass here for a short span while going to Delhi. This is the place where they run the campaign, they added.
“We told the former CM that the campaign is being conducted for the past three years. Our team comes to the JLN canal daily and makes an appeal to the people not to dump anything in it so that the water remains clean. Hooda appreciated our campaign and also encouraged us to continue with this noble cause,” said Jasmer.
