BJP announces Assandh ticket for Karnal dist president Rana
The ruling BJP announced the fifth ticket of the district today and fielded district president Yogendra Rana, a prominent face of the Rajput community from the Assandh constituency.
The Congress has already fielded sitting MLA Shamsher Singh Gogi, AAP has chosen Amandeep Singh, and INLD-BSP alliance has expressed faith in Gopal Singh Rana.
It is the first election of Yogendra Rana, who thanked the party leadership and claimed that they would win all the five seats of Karnal district. “I am grateful to the party leadership for giving me the ticket. We will win not only the Assandh seat, but all five seats with huge margin as our party had developed the district in an inclusive way without any discrimination,” said Rana at BJP district office Karna Kamal, where he was welcomed by party workers.
Political experts highlight Assandh’s unique demographic composition, with nearly equal voter representation across key communities, making elections highly competitive.
“Assandh is likely to witness another close contest. With nearly equal distribution of votes, caste factor will play a crucial role, as it has played in previous elections,” said Dr Ramji Lal, a political analyst and former principal of Dyal Singh College.
Assandh seat has recorded close contests in the past three elections, with narrow victory margins.
