The BJP has announced the appointment of new district presidents for Fatehabad, Sirsa, and Dabwali. Praveen Jaura has been appointed as the district president of Fatehabad, advocate Yatinder Singh as the district president of Sirsa and Renu Sharma as the district president of Dabwali. A total of 38 applicants from Sirsa, 40 from Fatehabad, and nine from Dabwali had applied for the post of district president.

Praveen Jaura is a seasoned BJP worker and has been associated with the party for over 35 years. At present, he serves as the state co-convener of the legal cell. The party has chosen district presidents with long-standing affiliations to the party in all three districts. Notably, both Yatinder Singh and Praveen Jaura are lawyers and come from the Sunar (goldsmith) community.

Interestingly, the list of BJP district presidents was leaked on social media before the official announcement. Yatinder Singh from Sirsa and Renu Sharma from Dabwali were mentioned in the list, but the leaders who were supposed to make the announcement had not yet arrived at the event. The announcement was made by Vijaypal Singh, who was assigned the responsibility of conducting the declaration. By the time the announcement was made on the stage, all workers had already learned about it through social media.

Yatinder Singh had previously served as the BJP district president of Sirsa from 2017 to 2020. He is also a member of the Railway Board's Passenger Service Committee, under the Centre. A member of the Punjabi Sunar community, Yatinder Singh holds degrees in BSc, BEd, and LLB. At present, he is serving as a state executive member and a member of the district grievance redressal committee. Before becoming the district president in 2017, he was the district general secretary. His family has been associated with the BJP since 1996, and his late father, Advocate Jai Mal Singh, also held various posts in the party.

Praveen Jaura had also been a contender for the BJP ticket during the Fatehabad Assembly elections. However, the ticket was given to Dura Ram and Jaura’s name had also come up during the previous election for the post of district president. At that time, Baldev Groha was reappointed as the district president. Jaura has been associated with the BJP since the time of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee and former Deputy PM Lal Krishna Advani.

Renu Sharma, who has been appointed as the district president of Dabwali, previously served as the chairperson of the Haryana Women Development Corporation under the Manohar Lal Khattar government in 2016. She had also contested the 2009 Haryana Assembly elections from Dabwali on the BJP ticket but secured only 1,056 votes. Renu Sharma's husband is a doctor and she helps him in running the hospital. She has now become the district president through the women’s quota in the BJP.
