With the Assembly elections nearing, candidates are making all efforts to secure their victory. BJP candidates are relying on the development works carried out by their government over the past 10 years and a well-established party cadre, including ‘Panna Pramukh’, Tridev, Shakti Kendra Pramukh, Booth Pramukh, and other office-bearers, to win all five seats in Karnal district.

In contrast, the Congress, which lacks a strong organisational structure, is focusing on capitalising on anti-incumbency sentiments and addressing various issues, such as the problems faced by residents due to the portal system, family IDs, and property IDs.

State ruined

The BJP government has ruined the state in the past 10 years. The portal system has caused significant difficulties for people. Property IDs and family IDs have added to the woes of the people of Haryana.

“Our government has developed the state in an inclusive manner with a mission of ‘Haryana Ek, Haryanvi Ek’. It is our government that has provided jobs based on merit by abolishing the ‘parchi and kharchi’ system,” said Brij Gupta, working district president of the BJP. He further maintained that the BJP government has ensured good governance.

Sumita Singh alias Sumita Virk, former MLA and Congress candidate from the Karnal segment, said the people of Karnal district were with Congress, and they would win all five seats in the district.
