BJP betrayed youth by bringing Agnipath scheme: Mann
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today launched a scathing attack on the BJP stating that the it had worked to betray Haryana youth by implementing the Agnipath scheme. He also put the BJP government in the dock over corruption and unemployment issues.
“The BJP has worked to ruin the future of Haryana youth by making them Agniveer as he will be recruited at the age of 18, will retire at 22,” said Mann, while addressing the people during a road show in Rewari. He came here to seek votes for AAP candidate Satish Yadav from the segment.
Flagging the issue of unemployment in the state, the Punjab CM said, “As per a report of the Central Government, the rate of unemployment in Haryana is five times the rate of the whole country. At the same time, then Haryana Chief Minister Khattar asked the youths to join the Russian army. As far as Punjab is concerned, I have given 45,000 government jobs in two and a half years.”
He claimed the AAP government in Punjab had also arranged private jobs for three lakh youth. At the same time, Arvind Kejriwal had provided jobs to 10 lakh youth in the private sector in Delhi. The intention should be clear to do so, he added. Taking a dig at the BJP for changing its CM in Haryana, Mann said: “Earlier they used to say double engine, in between one engine broke down. It was removed but the new engine does not know which track to run on. They do not know anything.”
During the roadshow, AAP supporters showered flowers on Mann and raised slogans of ‘Badlenge Haryana ka hal, ab laayenge Kejriwal’.
