In a major show of strength in the Kalayat segment, both BJP and Congress flexed muscles here on Thursday. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini addressed “Mhara Haryana-Non-Stop Haryana Jan Ashirwad Rally” in Kalayat while Congress Rajya Sabha MP Randeep Surjewala addressed “Kisan Mazdoor Bachao Aur Haryana Mein Parivartan Lao” rally organised by Kisan Congress leader Dharmveer Kaulekha in Mataur village in the same constituency.
Saini dared former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda to give reply on the works done during his tenure as the CM, while Surjewala accused the BJP on various issues, including unemployment, inflation, exploitation of farmers, traders and others.
“We are ready to give reply on all issues being raised by the Congress, but they must also give account of their 10-year tenure in the state,” Saini said, taking a dig at the Congress’ ‘Haryana Mange Hisaab’ campaign.
He highlighted the work done in the past 10 years and said it has abolished the ‘parchi’ and ‘kharchi’ system in jobs. He said the jobs were provided to youth without bribes and recommendations. He also highlighted the hike in pension under social security scheme and ensuring benefits under the direct transfer to their bank accounts.
The CM also accused the Congress of forming a recruitment stopping gang and said it has committed a sin by stopping the recruitment process. “We have secured the jobs of 1.20 lakh youth through Haryana Kaushal Rojgar Nigam Limited with one stroke of pen. We have also done TGT recruitment and given other jobs. But in the Congress, Hooda’s recruitment stop gang is working. We do recruitment, but the ‘recruitment stop’ gang reaches the high court. Recently, the recruitment of youth was to be done, but this gang reached the Election Commission, due to which the Election Commission had to put a stay on the recruitment,” he added. Saini alleged that the Congress was spreading lies and that the people of the state had ousted Hooda’s leadership from power in 2014 due to nepotism and corruption.
On the other hand, Surjewala invited CM Saini for a debate on the open stage. He said they would ask about the development works and welfare schemes. “The BJP is not willing to talk about issues related to public,” Surjewala added. He accused the BJP of rampant corruption at every level.
