BJP decides schedule for candidates' nominations
With the announcement of candidates for the mayoral post and councillors’ post for all 26 wards over a week ago, the BJP candidates as well as the party leaders are leaving no stone unturned to woo the voters. The BJP has taken one more step ahead and fixed the schedule for nomination of the candidates and also assigned duties of the bigwigs to go with the party's candidate at the time of nomination.
Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party has announced eight councillors' candidates in Panipat. Apart from it, the Congress is yet to decide its candidates for the mayoral post and councillors' posts. A meeting has been called in Delhi on Saturday in this regard.
Notably, the ruling party announced the ticket to Komal Saini for the mayoral post on February 15 and the councillors’ post on February 16. The candidates began campaigning in their areas concerned and also began opening their election offices.
Dushyant Bhatt, BJP’s district president, said the nomination schedule was fixed for the candidates. A total 16 candidates would file their nominations on February 24 while the mayoral candidate Komal Saini and 10 other councillors would file their nomination on February 25.
BJP state president Mohan Lal Badoli, Panchayat Minister Krishan Panwar, Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda, MLAs Pramod Vij and Manmohan Bhadana along with other senior party leaders would be present during the nomination of mayoral candidate Komal Saini, he added.
Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda and Gajender Saluja, representative of Union Minister and former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar would go with the candidates Anita Paruthi Ward 1, Kajal Sharma Ward 2, Anil Bajaj Ward 3, Pankaj Khusrija Ward 4 and Jaideep Arora Ward 5 on February 24.
BJP’s state general secretary Dr Archna Gupta and district general secretary Krishan Chhokkar would go with the candidates Komal Panchal of Ward 6, Ashok Kataria Ward 7, Sudesh Kashyap Ward 8, Naval Jindal Ward 9 and Kamal Arora Ward 10 on February 25.
MLA Samalkha Manmohan Bhadana and Roshan Lal Mahla would go with the candidates Anjana Gurjar Ward 11, Ashwani Sandhu Ward 12, Sarvesh Sharma Ward13, Ajit Kumar Ward 14 and Amit Narang Ward15 on February 25.
Panipat City MLA Pramod Vij and Dushyant Bhatt, BJP district president would go with the candidates -- Annu Ward 16, Rajni Garg Ward 17, Kuldeep Kumar Swami Ward 18, Neha Sharma Ward 19 and Tarun Gandhi Ward 20 on February 24.
Panchayat Minister Krishan Panwar and former Mayor Avneet Kaur would go with the candidates --Sanjeev Dahiy Ward 21, Rocky Gahlot Ward 22, Anil Madaan Ward 23, Sanchi Ward 24, Manjeet Kaur Ward 25 and Kusum Bhatt on February 24.
The BJP has also assigned the duties of the party workers for several work during the elections and also announced the names of the local speakers, Bhatt said.
Surender Ahlawat, AAP leader, said the party had announced eight candidates -- Vanshika Pal from Ward 2, Deepak Bindra from Ward 3, Neelam Pranami from Ward 5, Sandeep Prajapat from Ward 10, Pradeep Kashyap from Ward 13, Sachin Jangra from Ward 14, Neel Kamal Panwar from Ward 17 and Manoj Goyal from Ward 21.
