BJP failed, need to install new engines to ensure public welfare: AAP state chief

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) State Chief Sushil Gupta on Monday said all sections of society were dissatisfied with the BJP government and there was a need to install a new engine to ensure public welfare.

He was here to hold a meeting with party workers regarding the election of the Thanesar Municipal Council.

The party has fielded its MC chairman candidate Rukmani Balmiki on party symbol.

Speaking to mediapersons, Sushil Gupta said, “AAP is here to change the politics of the country and ensure that the public money is spent on public only. We aim to provide basic amenities to the people and boost infrastructure. Kurukshetra is a historic and religious city and every year the International Gita Mahotsav is celebrated here but despite getting a huge budget, the condition and infrastructure of the city has not improved.”

“There are no arrangements to dispose of garbage, no dumping yard and piles of garbage can be spotted at various locations. The roads are in poor condition, the drains remain choked and the outer ring road project is hanging fire. The law and order situation in Kurukshetra has deteriorated. The BJP has failed to fulfil its promises made in the manifesto of the Assembly election”, he added.

Gupta also raised the issues of stray cattle, corruption, property ID and family ID, and said, “People of Kurukshetra live in constant fear of floods and severe waterlogging during the rainy season and the Saraswati River is carrying dirty water. Nothing has been done to improve the situation. The BJP leaders are working as property dealers in the city and Kurukshetra is left on the mercy of God. The BJP talk about triple-engine government, but I feel that all engines of the BJP have failed and there is need to install a new engine. The AAP candidate will secure victory in the civic body election and work for the welfare of the people of Thanesar city.”

About party’s defeat in Delhi election, the AAP state chief, said “The BJP misused its power in the Delhi election. Arvind Kejriwal took decisions in favour of the people of Delhi by providing free electricity, water, education and health services and still the government was in profit. While, the BJP only makes promises and people of Delhi are waiting for the BJP to fulfil its promises. The people of Delhi have given AAP, the responsibility of the main opposition in Delhi and we will raise the issues of Delhi effectively.”
