A former CM, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, today stated that the BJP government consistently avoided answering the Opposition's questions throughout the Assembly session, and did not provide direct and precise answers.

Congress MLAs asked questions on issues ranging from law and order to farmers, roads, hospitals, inflation, corruption, unemployment, waterlogging and crop damage, poor condition of Ayushman Yojana and health services, problems in rice shellers and diseases in paddy, etc. “The government neither had an answer to any question nor a solution to any problem,” he said.

Addressing a press conference at his residence today, Hooda stated that the BJP's claim of providing MSP for 24 crops was being repeatedly exposed. “After paddy and maize, sunflowers grown by the farmer were also sold in the mandis at a rate much lower than the MSP. Instead of Rs 2,400 per quintal MSP, farmers got only Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,400 for maize,” he claimed.

“Whenever farmers ask for MSP, the government entangles them in the web of portals. Registration on the Meri Fasal Mera Byora portal has now become mandatory for fertilisers as well. That means the government has washed its hands of the responsibility of MSP and giving fertilisers,” he said.

“The same is the case with compensation. The government completes the registration on the 'Compensation Portal', but compensation is not provided. The PM Crop Insurance Scheme has also not benefited farmers, but has enriched insurance companies. This was revealed by the answer to a question in Parliament,” he said.

Further, he said there had been a scam involving crores in the issuance of BPL cards in Haryana.

Exposing the lie told by the BJP in the Assembly regarding the appointment of sportspersons, Hooda presented figures. He said during the Congress government, more than 700 players were given appointments. Apart from this, avenues of employment were opened for them by allocating a 3 per cent sports quota in all jobs. The BJP, he said, ended the policy.
