BJP failed to curb crime; Hooda silent on public issues: Dushyant
Says Saini govt has no major achievements to show after a year in power
Former Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Sunday launched a sharp attack on both Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda, accusing the ruling BJP government of failing on key governance fronts and the Congress of remaining silent on public issues.
Speaking at a workers’ meeting in Rohtak, Dushyant questioned the Saini government’s performance, saying, “One-year term of the Nayab Saini government is nearing completion, so the CM should share at least five major achievements of his tenure with people. The state’s deteriorating law and order is an open secret and the BJP government has utterly failed to curb it.”
Criticising the state’s Lado Laxmi Scheme, Dushyant said by imposing an income condition of Rs 1 lakh, the government had “excluded 75% of poor women from its benefits.” He added that flood victims have received no relief and farmers are not getting MSP for their produce in mandis.
The JJP leader also alleged that educational institutions had been turned into BJP training grounds. “While the government allows its own events in these institutions, student organisations are prohibited from holding programmes,” he said.
He further accused Opposition leaders of acting at the behest of the BJP, saying, “The newly appointed LoP, the Congress state president and the INLD president do not speak out on the issues of poor law and order, the plight of farmers and floods.”
Responding to a question, Dushyant took a direct swipe at Hooda, saying, “Why is Bhupinder Hooda afraid when we come to Rohtak? If he has the courage, contest the polls from Jind or Bhiwani. Despite being CM for two terms, Hooda has become a leader limited to a region.”
Earlier, Dushyant, along with JJP national president Ajay Chautala, addressed party workers and announced a new state-wide campaign, ‘Hari Chunari Chaupal’, aimed at enhancing women’s participation in politics. He added that INSO, the party’s student wing, will work to engage female students more actively in political and social issues.
