BJP fields candidates from all 26 wards of Panipat MC
The BJP once again took one step ahead in comparison to the other opposition parties by issuing the list of all 26 candidates for councillors’ post for the upcoming Civic polls. The BJP has fielded almost new faces in the political battle.
The BJP dropped the names of 21 former councillors in the list and repeated only 5 former councillors this time.
Two days after the announcement of Komal Saini as its mayoral candidate, the BJP on Sunday announced the names of candidates of all 26 wards.
As per the list available, the BJP trusted five former municipal councillors (MCs) – Anita Paruthi from Ward1, Anil Bajaj from Ward 3, Ashok Kataria from Ward 7, Sanjeev Dahiya from Ward 21 and Manjeet Kaur of Ward 25.
However, BJP’s district president Dushyant Bhatt succeeded in getting a ticket for his wife Kusum Bhatt from Ward 26. Dushyant Bhatt was former Senior Deputy Mayor and councillor from Ward 25.
The party announced Kajal Sharma from Ward 2 who is wife of Anil Sharma, who is PA to Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda, Pankaj Khusrija from Ward 4, Jaideep Arora from Ward 5, Komal Panchal from Ward 6. Sudesh Kashyap from Ward 8, Nawal Jindal from Ward 9, Kamal Arora from Ward 10, Anjana Gurjar from Ward 11, Ashwani from Ward 12, Sarvesh Sharma from Ward 13, Ajit Kumar Ward 14, Amit Narang from Ward 15, Annu Sharma of Ward 16, Rajni Garg from Ward 17, Kuldeep Kumar Swami from Ward 18, Neha Sharma from Ward 19, Tarun Gandhi a relative of former MP Sanjay Bhatia from Ward 20, Rocky Gahlot from Ward 22, traders’ leader Anil Madaan from Ward 23, Sanchi from Ward 24.
Dushyant Bhatt, BJP’s district president said all candidates have been announced on Sunday. The decision was taken by the high command, he said.
He further said the BJP would win its mayoral election as well as in all 26 wards in the city and was all set to form the triple engine government.
The manifesto committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of former councillor Ravinder Bhatia.
Apart from it, ward in-charges have been already appointed and all the party leaders and party workers have started working to win the MC polls, he said.
