BJP govt failed to hold CET for years, misleading youth: Hooda
Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has criticised the BJP government for its failure to conduct the Common Eligibility Test (CET) for several years, despite making promises of large-scale job opportunities.
In a statement issued today, Hooda accused the ruling party of misleading the youth in the name of CET. “The BJP, which came to power by promising to give 2 lakh permanent jobs, has not even been able to decide the rules and date of the CET till now,” he said.
He alleged that the BJP’s “ill-intentioned policy” was jeopardising the future of unemployed youth. “Lakhs of unemployed youth, who are becoming over-age while waiting for recruitments, are continuously waiting for CET and new recruitments. But as usual, the government is giving dates after dates,” he said.
Referring to pre-election promises, Hooda pointed out that the BJP had assured 1.20 lakh temporary employees under Haryana Kaushal Vikas Nigam (HKVN) that they would be made permanent. “Not only this, BJP also spread lies against Congress during the elections. It lied that if Congress comes to power, Kaushal Nigam will be abolished and all temporary employees will be fired,” he claimed.
“The truth is that Congress had promised in its manifesto to regularise all skilled workers and give proper salary hikes. But after the elections, the truth of BJP's lies came out in front of everyone. Going back on its own promise, BJP started firing Kaushal Nigam employees as soon as it formed the government,” he added.
Hooda further alleged that the government has started retrenching HKVN employees across departments. “Not only this, BJP could not even defend the rule of making skilled workers permanent in the Punjab and Haryana High Court and the court declared the rules made by BJP as unfair,” he said.
“Due to this, the sword of losing jobs is hanging over all the temporary employees. The workers who are surviving on temporary jobs and minimum wages are now facing the crisis of livelihood,” Hooda stated.
