Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said the BJP had completely ruined the health system of the state as no medical college,
health university or institute has been established by this government in the state in the past 11 years.
“This government is not able to run its own Ayushman Yojana properly. Often, government owes hundreds of crores of rupees to private hospitals. Due to this, private hospitals refuse to treat patients and patients' lives are at stake,” he said.
“So much so that the government has cut down on the Ayushman Yojana and the private hospitals will not treat five diseases, including cataract operation, uterus operation, gall bladder, vomiting and diarrhoea, and respiratory diseases. The Indian Medical Association has expressed surprise at the government's decision. Instead of paying the private hospitals on time, the government has stopped providing treatment for the five most-common diseases,” he alleged.
Similarly, giving another big blow to the public, the Haryana Health Department is not implementing the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways' scheme of free treatment for road accident victims. Due to this, private hospitals have decided that they would no longer treat road accident victims.
