BJP has nothing to show, only repeating old speeches: Hooda
Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has accused the BJP government of halting the state’s development and failing to deliver on its promises.
“Under this government, unemployment, crime, migration, drug abuse, and inflation have spiralled out of control,” Hooda said. "In the past 10 years, the government has no notable achievements, and even in its third term, it has done nothing significant."
Reacting to the Governor’s address, Hooda alleged that the BJP merely repeated old speeches because it has no real accomplishments to showcase. “It seems BJP considers rhetoric as development, because their claims on paper are not visible anywhere on the ground,” he remarked.
He criticised the BJP’s decade-long rule, stating that the government failed to establish a single medical college, major university, large industry, power plant or any significant project in Haryana. “How can BJP praise itself when its own statistics, both at the state and Central levels, show that it has only pushed Haryana into poverty and debt?” he questioned.
Hooda claimed that out of Haryana’s 2.8 crore population, nearly 2.11 crore people are below the poverty line (BPL). “This means BJP has failed to provide employment, quality education, healthcare, clean water and safe housing to a vast section of the population,” he stated.
On unemployment, Hooda accused the government of misleading the youth. “BJP came to power promising two lakh permanent jobs, but it is not even conducting CET. Lakhs of job seekers are becoming overage while waiting for recruitments, yet the government keeps delaying with new dates,” he said.
He also criticised BJP’s handling of temporary workers. “Before elections, BJP promised to make 1.25 lakh temporary workers permanent. They took votes based on this lie but are now removing them from jobs through Kaushal Rojgar Nigam,” he alleged.
Hooda further attacked the BJP on its unfulfilled election promises, particularly regarding women’s welfare and farmers' issues. “Where is the Rs 2,100 promised to women? Where is the Rs 3,100 per quintal for paddy? Instead of giving MSP, BJP forced farmers to sell their crops at Rs 200 to Rs 400 below the minimum price,” he said.
