While Congress candidate Mohit Grover and Independent candidate Naveen Goyal have pivoted their campaign around the city’s infrastructural collapse, BJP candidate Mukesh Sharma has so far failed to address the issue and is even evading visit to most impacted areas.

While the RWAs in Gurugram were expecting that the BJP would be held accountable for civic infrastructural collapse in the Vidhan Sabha elections, they have been left disappointed as the party candidate has so far abstained from speaking on the same and has been rejecting invites from the local RWAs to visit their areas and see the mess and have a conversation with them. Interestingly, the majority of Mukesh’s campaign is about him being a Brahmin. He is being widely trolled for a recent video where he is seen seeking votes as ‘Shraadh Dakshina’ for Brahmin.

“The BJP probably knew they could not face Gurugram and were assured of their defeat so they went ahead getting a candidate like him. It’s just 10 days to elections and we are still waiting for him to tell us Why did BJP fail and convert millennium city to ‘Kudagram’ and ‘Gaddhagram’ and if the party has any plans to resolve this. Mukesh is just talking about Brahmin votes and literally begging for those. The BJP has once again proved that they are least interested in infrastructure development and give two hoots to what we say,” said the RWA Federation of Gurugram.

It may be noted that many RWAs of old Gurugram, including HSVP sectors, colonies like Om Nagar, Shivaji Nagar, Patel Nagar Khandsa road and even Gurgaon village, have called for the boycott of Mukesh sharma for ignoring them.

The Opposition too is training guns at Mukesh for pivoting his campaign around one caste. “The party chose not to give me a ticket because I wanted to talk about infrastructure and make promises of resolution. Their central minister came and all that they could talk about was threaten me rather than addressing core issues of city. Mukesh is fighting as Brahmin candidate not incumbenet government candidate. The RWA’s have been raisning questions for a year, but both the BJP and Mukesh have been silent,” said Independt candidate Naveen Goyal in his statement issued today.

BJP defector GL Sharma, who recently returned to the Congress after being denied ticket, said Mukesh was just trying to fool people as BJP knew that they were about to lose as the majority of RWAs had pledged support to the Congress. Repeated attempts to contact Mukesh on the issue proved futile as his team insisted he was busy with campaign.
