Saffron party only gave jumla, alleges Batra; all lies, claims BJP's Grover
Locked in a direct contest, Congress Chief Whip and party candidate Bharat Bhushan Batra, and former BJP minister and nominee Manish Kumar Grover are leaving no chance to push each other to the wall.
Speaking during a public contact programme, Batra said the BJP had done nothing for the development of Rohtak city and redressing its grievances during its regime in the past decade, except giving "jumla" to people. He said the BJP should know that development and grievances could not be resolved through "jumla" alone, and that sincere efforts were needed.
“The Congress is on the path of truth and I neither do politics of lies nor like negative things. Nothing is more important than Rohtak city for me, hence I flagged all its issues before the Vidhan Sabha prominently but the BJP regime turned a blind eye towards them,” claimed Batra, a close aide of Bhupinder Hooda, a former CM.
The Congress candidate said a comprehensive plan was chalked out to decongest Rohtak but the BJP did not execute it to serve the interest of local leaders. “I will resolve this issue as soon as the Congress forms the government,” he said.
On the other hand, Grover, a close aide of former CM and Union minister Manohar Lal Khattar, questioned the Congress nominee why he did not get the issues of Rohtak city resolved. “The Congress and its leaders are indulging in the politics of lies with an intention to mislead people. Though I was not MLA, I remained active in the field and worked for the welfare of people in the past five years. The Congress MLA was nowhere,” he claimed.
Grover appealed to the people to form the BJP government for the third time to continue the process of providing government jobs on merit and development. “My priority is to ensure the overall development of Rohtak city. There was a major issue of traffic jams in the city. I got an elevated road and rail track constructed to decongest the city. To keep the city clean, the work of door-to-door garbage collection was initiated. Many more development projects were executed during the BJP's tenure,” he claimed.
