BJP releases 18-point manifesto for Sonepat’s development
The contest for the mayoral post is getting interesting day by day in the Sonepat by-election.
There are five mayoral candidates in the fray here, but the main contest seems to be between the BJP’s Rajiv Jain and Congress’ Kamal Diwan.
The campaigning in Sonepat is likely to reach its peak in the next three days, as the BJP’s bigwigs, including the Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, would reach Sonepat in support of Rajiv Jain.
A day after the BJP’s manifesto for the civic polls on Tuesday, the BJP leader and former Cabinet minister Kavita Jain, along with the BJP’s district president Jasbeer Dodwa, released a manifesto for the development of Sonepat on 18 points in the election office of Rajiv Jain at Purkhas Adda here.
Former minister Kavita Jain said the BJP had drawn a blueprint of development in the state with 21 points in its manifesto. Now, a separate blueprint for the overall development of Sonepat had been drawn on 18 points, stressing that an action plan regarding the Sonepat Municipal Corporation was ready.
She further said that all possible efforts would be made to give a modern look for the development of Sonepat city and all basic problems of the villages in the MC would be resolved on priority. The people of the state have full faith in the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
Former Minister said under the leadership of the Nayab Singh Saini, a triple engine government will be formed in the state and all promises made to the public in the manifesto will be fulfilled.
Main points of manifesto:
—Upgrading the drainage system and effective prevention measures before the monsoon of 2025 so that the problem of water-logging due to heavy rains is eliminated.
—Repair of roads will be given priority under ‘Har Gali, Unnat Gali’ in the corporation area. Potholes and broken roads in key areas like Sonepat-Rohtak flyover, Geeta Bhawan Chowk, Old DC Road, Kachhe Quarter, Sikka Colony, Sector 16, Sector 14, Sector 15 and Baba Dham Road will be repaired with white topping.
—Under the Swachh Sonipat campaign, waste management will be improved in areas like Arya Nagar and Vikas Nagar.
—The incomplete open drains of the city, especially in Sikka Colony, will be covered as soon as possible.
—Road safety will be increased by installing reflectors at all major intersections of NH-352 coming to Sonepat so that the journey is safe for everyone.
— Work will be done in collaboration with the state government towards the early completion of the renovation of the Civil Hospital and the bus port scheme.
—All wards will be beautified, which will involve maintenance of parks, planting of saplings and painting of walls.
