After winning the elections, he said, “This is the victory of the policies of the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose vision is taking the country ahead. I remain the same in every situation, ‘Na jeet ki khushi, na har ka gam’. We have worked for the development of Ambala Cantonment and we will continue to develop this segment further.”

Talking about his claim for the CM’s post, he said, “I am the seniormost leader and if the party high command gives me an opportunity, I will accept it. However, I will not stake any claim for it.”

Meanwhile, Chitra Sarwara said, “It was a tough contest and we knew it from the beginning that it was going to be between the ruling party and us. We accept the mandate given by the people of Ambala. I am thankful to the people for their support and we will continue to raise the voice of the people of the segment like always.”

Meanwhile, BJP workers held a huge celebration in Ambala Cantonment and took out a long victory march in the Sadar area, covering various markets.
