BJP to launch ‘Gaon Chalo Abhiyan’
Karnal, January 24
With an eye on rural votes, the BJP is all set to launch a public outreach programme called “Gaon Chalo” campaign (let’s go to villages). Under the initiative, BJP workers and leaders will go door-to-door in villages to make people aware about the welfare schemes of the Union Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This was stated by state president Nayab Saini during a state-level workshop held at the party’s district office —Karan Kamal— in the city.
During the workshop, district presidents and state executive members underwent training for the campaign. They were told about the main aim of the campaign.
Dr Pawan Saini was appointed as the coordinator for the “Gaon Chalo” campaign. “The BJP will start the campaign on February 4 and it will continue till February 11. They will connect with people living in rural areas,” said Saini, adding that the BJP led by PM Modi will form the government for the third consecutive term.
While interacting with the media, the state president launched a scathing attack on the Congress, alleging factionalism and politicising of the Ram Temple issue. “The Congress leaders are involved in allegations against each other. It is a divided house,” said the state president. When asked about potential candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, the state president stated that the party’s parliamentary board would make such decisions.
He also criticised the INDIA bloc, stating that the alliance was working towards promoting corruption and misleading people for votes. Regarding Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’, Saini said that Rahul had failed to deliver justice during their long tenure in power, while PM Modi had actively provided justice.
