BJP to replicate Hry, Delhi performances in civic body polls: Ex-min
Former minister and the BJP state spokesperson Krishan Murti Hooda expressed confidence that the BJP would replicate its successful performances of Haryana and Delhi Assembly polls in the upcoming civic body elections as well.
While addressing a news conference here on Monday, he asserted that the party would make a clean sweep across the state, as the people strongly favour the “triple-engine government” model to guarantee holistic development.
Describing the BJP as pro-farmer government, Murti said that a ‘Kisan Panchayat’ would be organised in Makrauli Kalan village on February 16 in order to highlight the achievements of the BJP government in supporting farmers. Additionally, he stated that the remaining issues faced by farmers would also be discussed and efforts would be made to find solutions by placing them before Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
Launching a scathing attack on former Chief Minister Bhupinder Hooda, the BJP leader said the previous Congress government led by Hooda in the state for two consecutive terms utterly failed to address the farmers’ issues.
“Instead of increasing the farmers’ income, the previous Congress government worked to render the farmers landless by acquiring their land in the name of development projects. At the time, the Congress government in Centre also failed to materialise its poll promise to execute the Swaminathan Commission recommendations,” he added.
Murti further highlighted that the BJP government’s efforts to support farmers, including the introduction of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, which provides monetary aid, and the provision of compensation for crop losses to farmers who do not have insurance coverage.
