A day after the BJP unveiled its civic election manifesto for the state, it has come up with a Gurugram-specific resolution, promising to return the city to its former glory. The document was presented by Rajya Sabha MP Subhash Barala, who said the party’s mayoral candidate, Raj Rani Malhotra, was the city’s only hope and the resolution was designed to ensure infrastructural growth and social uplift.

The proposals include 25 per cent rebate in property tax to women house owners, installation of pink toilets equipped with sanitary napkin-vending machines and nursing rooms in key commercial areas.

Barala said the BJP government, both at the state and Centre, was committed to ensuring sustained development in Gurugram. He highlighted that the vision document had been crafted to include solutions for the city's most pressing concerns, ranging from land ownership to improving urban infrastructure.

"Our vision is clear — well-planned, clean, and efficient Gurugram. We are dedicated to bringing in reforms that ensure better infrastructure, safety, and employment opportunities. We will make Gurugram a model city where development is inclusive and sustainable," said Raj Rani Malhotra.

“Women empowerment is integral to the BJP and it can be seen from the number of women candidates chosen by the party to contest,” said Rakhi Sharma, BJP Mahila Morcha Prabandhak.

“While there are substantial women voters, nobody is talking about their interest. Women form a major chunk of Gurugram house owners and are impacted by civic issues,” party candidate Bharti Harsana added.
