BJP wave in state, Cong to draw blank in civic polls, says CM Saini
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today asserted that the political atmosphere in the state strongly favours the BJP, predicting that the Congress will fail to win even a single seat in the civic body elections.
Addressing public meetings in support of BJP’s mayoral candidate Shailja Sachdeva in the Ambala Municipal Corporation byelection and chairperson candidate Megha Bansal in the Ismailabad Municipal Committee election in Kurukshetra, the CM urged party workers to ensure victory with large margins. He assured that a triple-engine government would lead to rapid development in Haryana.
Highlighting the government’s achievements, Saini said, “Congress leaders spread lies and misinformation. They claim no work has been done, but I want to tell you that in the first 100 days of our government, 18 key decisions were taken, benefiting the people of Haryana. Financial and administrative approvals for 10 more decisions will be granted soon. There is no dearth of funds and Ambala City will witness significant development.”
Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the CM added, “Modi ji has changed the picture and destiny of this country. Strengthen the BJP further and ensure our candidates win. I am confident that in 2029, the BJP will once again secure victory in both the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Ambala.”
Taking a swipe at former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal over his remarks on the Yamuna River, Saini said, “After his defeat, Kejriwal is yet to regain consciousness. Even the people of Punjab have now understood the truth, and in the next assembly elections, they will elect a BJP government.”
In a significant development, Congress leader and Ambala Municipal Corporation Deputy Mayor Rajesh Mehta joined the BJP in the presence of the CM, signalling a political shift in the region.
Earlier, while addressing a gathering in Ismailabad, Saini reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to rapid urban development, stating, “I assure you that the triple-engine government will carry out Ismailabad’s development at a fast pace. Our government has completed 100 days and has already taken historic decisions for the welfare of Haryana’s people. For balanced growth across cities, we have prepared a development roadmap through the Sankalp Patra.”
