BJP will score hat-trick, says Pradhan
Expressing confidence in the BJP victory, Union Education Minister and BJP’s Haryana election in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan said the party will form government for the third consecutive time in Haryana.
“Under the leadership of Nayab Singh Saini, we are contesting this election and we will make a hat-trick,” said Pradhan while interacting with mediapersons on the sidelines of the workers’ meeting at the party’s district office ‘Karna Kamal’ today. During the meeting, Pradhan discussed the election campaign with party leaders and workers. He exhorted the party cadre to work at the grassroots level to ensure the party candidates’ victory at all five Assembly segments.
He emphasised the party’s focus on development and good governance in Haryana. He also visited the residence of former Mayor Renu Bala Gupta, who was seeking a ticket and expressed anger over denial of the ticket. However, she has already made it clear that she would remain in the party and would not contest as an Independent candidate. Pradhan also interacted with prominent people of the city at her residence.
He also highlighted the party’s efforts to work for farmers and the general public, mentioning that the BJP government was the first in Haryana to provide minimum support price (MSP) for all crops and offer government jobs without favouritism or bribes. “Our government in Haryana abolished ‘parchi and ‘kharchi’ (recommendation and bribe) in providing jobs. It is the BJP government which purchases maximum crops on the MSP,” Pradhan said.
About the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Haryana, he said the PM would hold rallies in different parts of the state along with national leaders and would tour all 90 Assembly segments to garner support.
Criticising Congress candidate Rahul Gandhi on his remarks on reservation in a student interaction progrmme at Georgetown University in the US, Pradhan said the real face of Congress has been exposed. “If the Congress comes to power, it will abolish reservations, which reflects its repeated anti-Dalit, anti-backward mentality,” said Pradhan.
When asked about AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal’s statement on resigning from the post of CM, Pradhan said, “I have not seen Kejriwal’s statement, but when the next election happens in Delhi, the people will surely vote him out as he has failed to deliver on his promises, and the corruption charges against him remain. He has no connection with the people.”
On the absence of former CM and Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar from the PM’s rally, Pradhan said, “Manohar Lal is a senior leader of our party. He has managed the state’s affairs for a long time and is now handling national responsibilities. He is currently engaged in the cleanliness drive, and there is no discontent.”
