A BJP worker in Ambala today allegedly consumed some poisonous substance near the residence of Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij at Shastri Colony in Ambala Cantonment. He was identified as Gurjatan Singh, alias Billu, a resident of Tundla village.

He was rushed to the Ambala Cantonment Civil Hospital, where his condition was said to be out of danger.

Reportedly, he had some dispute with another party person. However, the BJP local leaders refrained from making any comment on the incident and said they were not aware of the dispute.

Meanwhile, Parao police station SHO Dalip Kumar said, “We received information that Gurjatan had consumed some poisonous substance, but he is out of danger and currently under observation. The exact reason behind the attempt is yet to be ascertained. His statement will be recorded and further action will be taken accordingly.”
