The office-bearers of the Bhartiya Kisan Union (Mann) held a meeting in the city on Thursday and announced the organisation’s decision to hold a tractor parade on January 26.

The decision was taken in the wake of a call given by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) to assert their demands, including the enactment of a law ensuring minimum support price (MSP).

“We have decided to organise a tractor parade on January 26 at district headquarters. A similar one will be held in Karnal city to press for our demands,” stated Rattan Mann, state president of the union.

Mann highlighted that two years have elapsed since farmers initiated their protest against the three farm laws on Delhi borders. Despite assurances by the PM, no substantial action has been taken and the Centre has maintained a prolonged silence. He emphasised the commitment to a peaceful tractor parade. Concers were also raised over alleged forced sale of nano urea.
